Does anyone else find installing ditch lights that hang off the end of the pilot with only the smallest anticlimber (if that's what that is) inbetween the fixtures offering no support. To get these on, I am cutting and glueing tiny bits of strip styrene to simulate the brackets found underneath. Does someone make a part for this or am I posting in just the right place?

You got the right idea-you're not the only one with that issue!
There just isn't enough room to mount them level with the deck on certain units, so I'll occasionally cut into the anticlimber (as some railroads do), or I'll use some Evergreen .080" channel and use that as a bracket and mount them a little lower.
There's also Details West's DL-229, which makes it a little easier to get everything into position, and will save you the scratchbuilding time.
