The other option is to bend your own brass wire and either use the plastic stanchions or use brass stanchions?

Just for the record, the athearn replacements are kind of a pain. Next time I'll go with smokey valley.
The reason, the front handrail for the large anticlimber isn't 1 piece like everything else. It's 5 pieces, the center section, the 2 stantions on the side of the anti-climber, and the 2 handrails that go up from the stairwell to the side stanchions. Let's just say that getting them together is a big PITA, the only thing that seems to hold them is CA.
I'm wondering what you ordered as far as stanchions. I'd want to see what would be required for an SD40-2 with the anitclimber like you are doing.

This project had hit a concrete wall. Busted the wall down recently and have now restarted this project. Finally figured out how to bend the wires for the truck air brake lines. Now to do the other 6 loco`s in this 7 loco project.

are you using anything special to get the curvature of the brake lines from the top to the cylinder? Im able to bend the sharp angles, but that half circle gets screwed up all the time.

I used .0125 Phosphor Bronze wire that I ran over a candle flame............I did the curve bends like Brian Banna did in his you-tube video on the SD40T-2

i'll have to re=watch that video. The bend is what screwed me up. I had all the angled parts perfect, but the half round looked all bad.

The guys at the old LaGrange shop would be proud of that assembly line.

Hi, Got some more work done. Set up the truck brake chains. Mock up of the front end. Made a drill guide for the Hi-Tech air hoses I will be using. Did the same for the front.........also a mock up with the MU/air hoses and plows. Added lead shot to the fuel tanks. Removed the backing from MV lenses and Bowser marker jewels.....these will be lit up from behind with SMD LED`s. Now making a fixture for assembly of the brass hand rail stanchions. More to come at a later date (when I get that far)
