Very nice! Just remember, with an Alco there is no such thing as 'light exaust weathering'!

Trevor, where did the rear of the long hood come from?

The rear of the long hood has a custom resin casting, as was the fuel tank. The parts were produced by Jeff Briggs after a group of dedicated BC Rail modelers commissioned Jeff to make the parts. The run was fairly small, and the parts are now quite scarce. -Trevor

Yes its some Railflyer EMD tread. Not correct for an Alco, but its what I had on hand at the time. -Trevor

Model looks great. What did you use for the hand rail on pilots. "the one above the cut lever". I am almost finished my model and this is one of the last details I need to add. Thanks Also wanted to say that your models have been a great reference! Awesome!! Shane Mitchell Golden BC

Sharp looking unit.
Trevor, did you use the TLT gloss/flat paints to finish? I've had some problems with spraying them and getting a coat with white flakes mixed in.

Thanks again guys! The handrail above the cut lever was some .010 brass wire with custom etched lift tabs. The model is painted with the new TLT paint, I had to use multiple coats of silver to get it to look right (lots of flakes in the paint) as well as making sure it was stirred well. I used future floor wax for the gloss coat, followed by a flat finish (TLT paint). The model is too clean for my tastes, so this summer it will head back to the paint booth for some light weathering. -Trevor
