Thank you for the compliments guys.
It is an Atlas C30-7 that came in UP paint. Upon arrival from eBay land it was dismantled and then given a bath in 91% alcohol. It had the wrong cab and the wrong truck sideframes. Luckily I had the right cab in my parts bin but i had to order the sideframes from Atlas. I used Detail Associates #3307 GE window plugs on the side windows. They are designed for the Athearn cab so I had enlarge the opening a little so they would fit. Also they looked a little too thick so I sanded them down to thin them. To make the antenna base I used the AC base out of Details West #159 AC unit and filled in the recesses with strip styrene. The small Antenna base is Plano #184 with one side shortened so it will sit flat on the curvature of the roof. The conduit is .012 brass wire with eye bolts for the brackets/supports. The anti-climber is DW #262 but it looks like this part has been discontinued. The corner grabs on the nose are made from .010 brass wire. The handrails are .015 brass wire with Utah Pacific #87 handrail stanchions.

Very nice looking unit. CSX had many of these on lease during the early-90s so I'm going to have to build a couple for myself some day.

Thank you for the compliments everyone. BN leased some of them too. I saw them come through Tulsa on coal trains back in the 90s.

I don’t know how I missed this one!! Another great job!
You need to bring that thing to the house one of these days to help those struggling BN units on my run through coal train!

Very nice! GE didnt put any reporting marks on them for their lease fleet? It does look nicer without GEX or something like that on the cab.
I may have to do one up to run with my freelance railroad to break things up a little.

Very nice! GE didnt put any reporting marks on them for their lease fleet? It does look nicer without GEX or something like that on the cab. They were in the lease fleet for a long time before they got new reporting makes and/or repainted. Some of them got "GE lease" in one inch letters under the numbers. In the mid 90s there was a person who worked for BN and would print out the lineup and they showed that they still carried ATSF reporting in the computer system when they were being leased to the BN. Here is a link to site that has some more information on the ATSF C30-7s, atsf.railfan.net/sfkodcrm/c30-7e.htmlYou need to bring that thing to the house one of these days to help those struggling BN units on my run through coal train! I will have to do that. Those BN units probably never seen any maintenance there entire life and then getting worked to death on a coal train! Weren't one of those BN units running so poorly that it had flames shooting out of the exhaust? Where did that picture go Sammy?

That thing is shooting fire from the stack because it is pulling that dead Santa Fe unit. Hoover
