That's great! For the next challenge; 471, with the home built cab! I saw it when it was on Connecticut DOT Shore Line East. Don't worry, I was just joking.

The 471 would be a real challenge that I would like to see someone do, I don't have the skillset (or budget) to attempt such a project. MEC 471 is one of my favorite geeps to come out of Waterville evah! The first time that I saw this loco the full tank skirt and the huge cab made me think it was a CF7, but the dynamic brakes made me look closer. What an interesting locomotive. The 471 is still operating as ORHS 471 in Ohio I think. Maybe we should start a club called "Friends of the 471" and try to buy it! Kinda kidding, but not really!

That's an outstanding model. Out here I have always heard the Down-Easters refer to these locomotives as Waterville Chopnose Geeps. It's like the Wild Mary calling their 4-8-4s Potomacs, or the Milwaukee Road calling their 4-6-4s Baltics. Sort of a regional name thing, that I thought I'd share.
