Anyone know what the paint color is for the inside of a GP35 cab?
Thanks,Nick

Grey. EMD stopped painting cabs green in the 1950's.

Rudy,
No - that is not true. You could get the seafoam green or the suede gray, and was upto the RR who ordered the unit. I have a pic from LTE of a SD38 cab cut off the frame and the interior of it is seafoam green. Loco was built 68 or so.

I thought it was pretty much grey from the late 50's onward - I don't think I've ever seen a green cab in a second-generation EMD. That's a new one for me, and I stand corrected!

Hell I'm sure GE or EMD would paint the cab interior pink if you were willing to pay for it.

What about the floor? Typically a dark grey of sorts? I'm working on a UP GP35 and two UP SD24 units. Thanks...

The floors are usually some type of particle board. One option was for a plastic diamond plate tread. BNSF and CP have been painting the cabs off white. BNSF also paints the control stands brown/tan. The widecabs usually have rubber matting material on the floors, and tan or off white interiors.

Most Union Pacific Locos these days have dark grey or black rubberized material on the floor, everything from the dash 9's on up and SD70m's and Ace's all have this material, older EMD's seem to have some particle board material with a non-skid coating on them. Most older EMD's on the UP have Grey interiors while the more modern stuff has beige paint. The GP's going through the shop at NLR are getting beige interior colors now as well, I'm assuming the same for the SD40N's.

I'm a conducter/brakeman for Bay Coast Railroad and all of our engines have gray cab interiors.
