I did most of the front end and cab detailing today: Next up are the rear grab irons, and replacing the stock molded footboard pilots with see-thru ones. Nick

Thanks Jay. I'm modeling the late 1960s/early 1970s when the units still had their foot boards. Keith I used Cal-Scale RS unit grabs.

I finished up the pilot details today: I replaced the stock pilots with Atlas C420 pilots, as well as, adding coupler cut bars. Nick

Don't forget about the MU hoses on top of the deck, next to the drop step. This was so they could MU with the 4000 class, which had the MU hoses on the handrail posts. In the early era, the D&H did not use the middle hose (actuating) on each side. This also had to do with the 6 brake systems on the 4000 class. It looks like they started to use the actuating hose after they got all of the 7300, 7400, 400, and 7600 classes, and the majority of the 4000 class was retired.

I was not being critical. I have seen the old pictures, plus I noticed the capped off pipes when I rode the Upper Hudson.
