I've been a long time lurker, but never had any worthwhile projects to post on the site. I'm still fairly new at this, but I have built many model aircraft (mainly modern US and Russian military stuff). I've been working on a Tower 55 ES44DC for the last few months when I get a chance. I have a destructive 2 year old that likes to throw anything he gets his hands on, so needless to say my time is limited. Since the locomotive I started with was a Northern Pacific fantasy scheme, and seemed like everything was made for BNSF, I had to make many modifications. After stripping the paint on the body and truck frames, I: -Moved the number boards down to the nose -Filled in the holes left by the number boards -Moved the rear headlamps up -Moved the sand filler hatch below the rear headlamp -Filled in the top area that the sand filler hatch occupied -Cut apart front and rear plastic railings, and rebuilt them with wire after drilling the stock stanchions. -Re-shaped the top of the rear pilot. Still have a little more work to do before I paint it, and I am open to any constructive criticism you may have. It will be awhile before it is done, and I will update as often as possible. Thanks, Coy

Pictures aren't great, and are pretty large, but you can see most of what I have done so far in them.

I have a CSX ES44DC, and NS ES44DC on order. I am only doing this because the locomotive was collecting dust in its box, and I needed a winter project.
Started paint yesterday, we'll see how it turns out.

I think u did a really nice job on the number boards, rear light, and sand filler hatches. Nice work man... The IMRC NS ES40DC's are going to be sweet. I can't wait. I have all numbers on order.

Small update with no pictures. I have all the paint done, and details applied, but I am hung up on the number boards. I am on my third attempt and am considering a ShellScale number board set. Last try tomorrow.
Other than that I am pretty happy with how it is turning out, and will post pictures asap.

Thanks man!
Decided not to attempt the conversion to the three window cab, due to lack of skill. Maybe next time.

Thanks everyone. Planning on doing some weathering over the next few weeks to make it look a little more prototypical. Also need to pick up a decoder and wire it up.
