Model is almost ready for some paint just need to add a bell. Did some other work to the model, removed the footboards and replaced them with the details associates footboards. Added the cut lever by rail flyer: ICRR 8911 by ICRR 3067, on Flickr

Is that some sort of exhaust stack on the short hood end?
Looks great so far!

Australianterrier is right. It's just a exhaust stack for the steam. The crew's were always complaining about the steam going into the cab, so the IC extended the stack.

It's just a exhaust stack for the steam. The crew's were always complaining about the steam going into the cab, so the IC extended the stack. Actually, it was the exhaust gases (burned diesel fuel) from the steam generator, not steam. The exhaust gases would enter the cab ventilating system through the #1 cooling fan air intake (which was especially bad during cold weather). The stack raised the exhaust above the air intake to keep the gases out of the cab. Other railroads tried similar devices, including smoke lifters over the radiator shutter openings and long sheet metal boxes from the stack and extended over the cab roof.

All done. The first out of the three. The only thing left to do is install the MU hoses. They're on back order. GP7_001 by Timothy N. Alund, on Flickr

Wow that turned out nice.I have always liked the IC in all their schemes. You have done a real super job and I think when you get them all done put them all coupled up and send a shot of them together.
