Very good build! I need to get kicking on my two BNSF units, I've already removed the nose sand filler on one and prepped it for the new headlight.

Nice Job indeed. I'm starting to like the gen sets. Too bad they're nearly sold out already, why can't model mfg's keep loco's in production a bit longer. Every time I spot something I like, I find it's already sold out, particularly the UP models seem to go fast, must be popular :-) Anyway, when did the gensets first appear on the rails? I'm modeling the early '90's and would like to be able to mix one of these along other 4 axle diesels. One reason they're sold out is because lots of hobby shops and online hobby shops are buying them in bulk, you can see these models all day long on ebay.

Decoder is implemented, ESU LokPilot 3.0 DCC Strobs plugged on Decoder and programmed Kai Hallo Kai, what will you be using for the sounds? A friend of mine also bought an Atlas Gen Set, but is looking for the right sounds, as the unit has 3 separate small engines, so a EMD or GE12 or 16 cylinder engine will sound wrong? Koos

QSI is planing on releasing a Genset decoder in early 2011. The information I got from them was that they have really good recording, but the way their current software notches, does not match the way the genset work with the 3 engines.

That's interesting, I'm sure others will follow. I've heard my friend is using a Loksound decoder, so if a soundfile is/becomes available, then that might be an option for him (and perhaps me in the future, when another run of these is released, as the current ones are mostly sold out everywhere, just a few left here and there, and at present I have no funds to spend on an engine..)

At TrainFest last month MRC has a sound decoder that is a drop in for these locomotives. They even include LEDS for the ditch lights. The decoder has the unique sounds of the 3 diesels coming online as the load is increased. They are supposed to be available in January, or so.

Nice stuff sir. I am also going to be following this upgrade as I am in the process of determining if I want to add a couple of these to my roster as replacements for my aging and tired equipment.
