The theme for November is 1:1 Diesel. Post a photo of yourself standing in, on, or near a real diesel locomotive. This can be an old pic or a new pic.

Here's an example. This is a pic of a certain senior citizen with a beer belly standing in front of an Alco. The parka has stuff in the pockets, so it isn't that big. I'm a Minolta Man, and my wife caught me with a Chinon hanging around my neck...go figure.

Something I can actually participate in this month, yep that's me checking out some grain power to make sure it is tied down properly.

OK something I can submit photos for! From 2 years ago already, me in the cab and on the porch of one of my favorite prototypes at the Canadian Railway Museum: LOOK at those UGLY glasses! Thankfully I don't have those frames anymore....

This is a pic of me standing on Cadiz RR number 8. The number 8 was ex Tennessee Central number 51. The cadiz railroad owned this loco and a another s1, number 9 also from TC. The line was 10 miles long in western ky. It was abandoned in 1990.

This is me from about a month ago standing in front of Bethlehem Steel 3-foot gauge 25-ton Whitcomb #21 and holding a stencil with the logo for the Philadelphia, Bethlehem & New England Railroad (Bethlehem Steel's Bethlehem, PA plant railroad) at my internship at the National Museum of Industrial History inside the Central Tool Annex building in the Bethlehem Steel complex in Bethlehem, PA. ... phew, that was a long sentence. ;D

Here's "the future railfan" and " Diesel Detailer" and myself 2 summers ago at Railfest in Altoona/Horseshoe Curve. At the time, my daughter wasn't even three years old, and she's going to be 4 soon; AND STILL LOVES TRAINS! Wish I had a better shot where she's looking at the camera, but she IS a railfan after all!
I also wish I could find the shot of her with me on the North Shore switcher that pulled the "Fall Foliage Train" from Bellefonte to Pleasant Gap, PA.
I'm liking everyone else's posts as well..........it's good to put a face to the posters!

Granted I searched but could not find a Diesel in the back ground with me in it, so I opted to post this shot with my son in front of one of the Huge Driver Wheels of UP 844, please excuse the non diesel image, but this steamer is beautiful

He looked so depressed and lonely up in the cab of that locomotive, I decided to bring a little joy to his life:
