Well a few months ago I decided to start building up some of the Coal Trains that Run on the KCS. Coal Trains like C-KCSH which use TXUX Trinity RD4 Hoppers, and the C-KCHV which is KCLX Bethgon Hoppers. Both Trains have KCS and BNSF power on them. Typical Power from the KCS on these Trains are SD70ACes,ES44ACs,AC44CWs,SD70MACs,and typical power from the BNSF are SD70MACs,SD70ACes,ES44ACs. I already have an KCS ES44AC,and 2 AC44CW,and 2 KCS SD70ACes on order from Athearn So i'm good in that area on the KCS power. But the BNSF power was the problem. I didn't own not an BNSF loco in site. So lucky I was able to buy 2 BNSF SD70MACs from Eric here on the forums a.k.a riss2509. Hes a great guy to deal with and i'm happy with the purchases i've made from him. So the First unit up is BNSF SD70MAC #9738 which is an ex-BN Executive unit I've started to detail this unit which included putting the correct plow on it. Heres the BNSF prototype i'm going to model it after, and notice its on KCS trackage on the TXUX coal train i'm talking about www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1435925Next Up is BNSF SD70MAC 9482 Its pretty much detailed up and correct so all thats need to this unit is some weathering and the Prototype www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1235841

I agree with B&O about needing 4 more but they all need to be in the grienstein scheme as they looked sharper then the h2 scheme

I thought the exec. paint scheme really fit the 70mac when they started rolling through Spokane. You're off to a fine start and I look forward to more pictures.

I just ordered a BN 70mac the other day from the new run so that I can throw it in to my pool power on my OIPI train (Oak Island NJ to Pittsburgh aka Conway Yard) or it could run on the tv11

I like both schemes, My favorite color is orange, so I guess that's why I'm drawn to the BNSF even though my main railroad is CSX.

Heres an update of 9714 Protopic. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1195933Model, I did mix up my own paint to match the BN executive Cream Color for patching some areas and I think it matches good. This next Pic is an Paper cut out of the BNSF Patch Decal on the 70MAC units that I was testing for Fitting.I cant wait for those to get here along with some others to finish of the MAC. All thats left is to add is an Decoder,Handrails and Truck details.

@damian, let me know how that Microscale trim film works out. I'm so curious to see if it was just my printer that didn't like it or what... Post pics of the printed decals even if they don't come out good. mike (conrailnut) I go over to the port of NJ once in a while... I pass over Oak Island yard on the way. -Pulaski Skyway to I95... That whole area is nice and industrial. I wish there was a spot where you could go to view the yard, but I don't think there's anyplace you can go. If anyone knows of a spot I'd be interested to find out what that is!

@ Dan, we are using decal paper made by Bare metal foils, it is not superior, but it best what is not available through any other channel.
Great match on that tan Damien
