I do not have the Big Jack paint nailed down as yet. Georgia Road does have one. Some may remember that the old Dakota Southern RR has the remains of the last one at the end of a very light grain branch at the end of the line. Story goes that Georgia Road bought the stripped hulk and moved it to Alabama for rebuilding around year 2001 to introduce its "Eagle Flyer" APC double stack service. The unit was restored with two 645 power plants and hits the 6000hp mark. It is called a DD40AXm and was used for the poster child for several calendars, sales pamphlets and public relations material. There is one more. A DD35B exists also. It is called "Drag Daddy" by local railfans for its permanent assignment to nocternal Birmingham area transfer trains.

Fine model there--now if I can just get some of mine done! Anthony, I wish I could hire you to do all mine. Your skills surely out do mine. Thank you for posting! You do not know how cool it is to see an actual model after years of designing and drawing. Now you have to go into details for me on how you painted it...
In case anyone wonders...
ALIS--"Alice"- is the Alabama Interstate RR Georgia Road works like the old Southern or Family Lines with a bunch of subsidiary lines under one corporate head. This had to be done as the whole railroad was put together piece meal and each one is bound by its own purchase agreement. Georgia Road also has its GARD reporting marks, usually on newer equipment purchased for "system wide" usage.

Well Hank I am glad you like it,just need to do the handrails and finish installing the wipers,a little weathering and she will be done.......She turned out better than I thought she was going to.I am proud of how she looks and you picked an awesome paint scheme....I do have a SD70 with GR waiting to be applied....
You can hire me to do some of your engines if you like,PM me and we can talk.........
Now I still have a CIOR and a PEIR engine to get started on and finish the RG&S also...I dont think I have any "real" railroads for models that I am going to keep anyway.....

As with the units I paint and decal, the GR decals make the detailing and painting come alive. I've read elsewhere about modelers using Future but they don't say how. So, do you thin it down or shoot it straight? If you thin it, how much and with what? Again, it's a good looking unit.

The GR was the first engine I used the Future on and I really like.No thinning needed, just make sure you have rubbbing alcohol in a bottle to rinse out the air brush right after cause if it dries in the gun it will be hard to clean out... www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.htmlRead this article about Future, alot of info......... I used a blow dryer to dry and harden up the Future faster. Now don't use the blow dryer on HOT,you will distort your model especially if you have used Cannon parts like a cab.. You know I did get that chalky residue after I put the GR decals on after I put the Solvaset on it but only on one side,I did freak out a little (ok alot,I thought I was going to have to strip it and do it over) I did not do what you said but I used paint to touch it up.I will try the Solvaset next time though... My experience on that...........

If you have a need to do a DD35B unit, the shop I frequent here in NC has two undec Athearn DD shells hanging on the rack. You could splice the two together to get the B unit built.
Anthony, GREAT job on the 40-2. Classic looking for sure and fits a class 1.

Very cool! The white cab roof gives it a great fresh modern feel to a classic freight motor! Great stuff - keep up the good work.
I really should crack on with my own...

I can just picture "Drag Daddy" hauling a transfer between yards, with a CSX style remote car on each end for the crews, or perhaps suitably equipped transfer caboose with headlights...... www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=192270&nseq=13www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=212675&nseq=10www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=310327&nseq=78www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=324180&nseq=72:-) Drew
