Nice looking fleet of cabeese Bob What are you using for the mesh/screen appearance in the windows? Stephen, the stainless steel mesh screen you see comes in each WrightTrak caboose kit as needed. If you should decide not to use the screen supplied in the kit, it sure comes in handy for other projects where small mesh screen is needed.

Stephen, not only does WrightTrak Models produce fine caboose kits, they also produce one of the nicest (as far as I am concerned) waffle side box cars on the market. Here's one that I built last year.

Man, the hits just keep on coming. Your caboose track must be a veritable rainbow. You've done a wide variety of roads well. Did the screendoor on the PC caboose come with the kit?

Yes, the screen door was a detail part included in the kit as was everything you see except for the trucks, wheels, couplers and LP gas tanks which you can see in the scan below and these were created from Cannon & Co. air tanks with a few pieces of styrene added to the tops.

Thanks for the info Bob and that is a sweet looking boxcar. I think I saw a few of those cars on the CBNS. Were they a general purpose car or were they for a special service? Steven, these cars were for general purpose use and were often spotted all over the United States on other railroads.

Here's one that I built last year. [/quote] Bob, here is a pic that I took in Fernley, NV. It has a different door than yours and it has an ACI tag just to the left of the door, and safety tape. Plus the coupler pocket and coupler stick out a little bit further, maybe because the catwalk is skinnier than your model. And I didn't even know about Wright trak, and have just placed an order for 2 of their Southern Waffle Boxcars, thanks for the link.

"picking my jaw off the floor!"
I wouldn't mind having that PC transfer for my belt job. I do believe the belt job used that type of caboose during my modeling time frame.

Another fine job as usual on the DT&I hack, Bob Guys, I second what Bob said about Gary's kits being top-notch; I have built a few myself and have always been pleased with the results. I am currently working on my second Wrighttrak L&N bay window cab, and will try to post pictures of it in a seperate thread when I'm done. Chuck Yeargin

C&EI Caboose Very nice. How did you do the striped railings and grabs. I like the look but I wonder how tedious it is. I'm guessing from the slightly irregular spacing that the striping was done with paint rather than decals? Jim

Those are some amazing looking cabooses. (cabeese?) Oh, and waycar was a CB&Q term for the caboose.

Anyone have experience getting replacements of lost parts from WrightTrak? I lost one of the photo etched B2 Angled Cupola Side Window Frames in the basement carpet - not to be found anywhere. I used the contact page on the WrightTrak web site to inquire about replacement about a week ago but never heard back.
Was wondering if any of you would have any left from your kits that you could spare or swap for screened versions like hotshot3305 used on his NW cab on page 1 of this thread. I'm building an Ann Arbor version.

Try Gary directly at wrighttrak@windstream.net. Gary is a good guy and as long as the parts are still in production I don't see why he wouldn't make you a deal on a replacement.

Thanks for the info. The web site contact form seemed a bit intermittant.
Update: That worked, thanks stillbre.
