Guys, if people are willing to sell me the parts cheap. I'll gladly tackle this build. If it ends up with parts from lots of different people I would have no problem passing it around so It can visit other layouts.

To model this unit correctly, you'll need to start with a late phase GP35, the one that uses a thinner frame and fuel tank profile much closer in design to that found on GP40s. So perhaps it might be better to start with a GP40, use its walkways, fuel tank and hood and shorten the whole thing (or build your own hood from Cannon parts) to toss over a GP35 mechanical chassis.
Cheers, Harry Wong

That one is on the bottom of my "to do" list, as I have started accumulating the parts and found an empty box to keep them in. I am still searching for the drive mechanism, so I guess that's some progress, huh?, ;D

I allways wondered what happened to this EMD demo. It's amazing that that the ICG/IC ended up with three unique demonstrators from '65!

Thanks for the interesting scans of IC 3075. Seems like IC upon recieving 433A made changes to bring her up to IC standards. The addition of the sight glass by IC along with the addition of nose headlights, change in cab mars light housing, addition of sun shades and repositioning and change of air horn styles are only those I can spot by looking at the photos. All of these changes would have been done between fall of 1970 when IC recieved this unit and her demise as a GP40X December 2, 1973 when she was wrecked while in consist. She was rebuilt in 1975 and returned to service as IC GP35 #2550 sans the flared radiators.

Did anyone start this project? It's been over a year. My "to-do" box has more parts in it than it did a year ago....does that count? My plan is to begin this one when I finish the C&G SD28 build.

I have a model of the 433A that was built by the now out of business S&J Custom Models. I'll post pictures later tonight. Bry
