I have been trying to get some information on this 3D printed gp40 MC model since the posting I haven't been able to access any of the photos that were included in the article is it possible that this could be reprinted or reposted so that I could get a better idea how this project is came along?
Well, It's done.
I took the photos to scale for the 3-D design in September 2014. Been printing, testing and re-designing parts since late 2017. Been working on this "final" version since sometime in 2020.

I was never able to figure out how to modify an existing frame, so I ended up designing one and having it printed.
I doubt that the components can be scaled to print in a smaller scale. Most barely print in HO.

Standard Microscale MBTA decals and custom decals. (not from Highball Graphics, although they *now* offer a nice-looking set L-132)
Thanks to the heavy frame and Genesis running gear, it runs smoothly and will pull equal to or slightly better than an Atlas GP40 widecab.
I may offer to sell the 3-D printed components through Shapeways, but will need to verify their frame works and set pricing.
