Hello Artur; I agree with the others, excellent modelling and paint work.
What make of kit are they?? Are the grill walkways just a Canadian thing? or did some US RRs have the same detail?
Regards, Mark.

Regards, Mark. Hey Mark, I made the kits for resin. No one makes a correct Canadian Dash 9 so I modified a MTH long hood and Intermountain cab then I made copy’s so I could build multiple units. The grill walkways are used on some Canadian units in order to keep the snow off the walkways. It’s possible that some northern US roads utilized this feature. M420 and HR412 had the grill walkways as well so I’m thinking US roads that had these units had the grill walkways.

The grill walkways must be a CN thing. The British Columbia units are similar. Maybe GE gave BC Rail a deal by using CN specs. CP doesn’t have the open walkways.

For being your own castings, these are fantastic! Makes my Kaslo kits look like amateur hour... I am still very satisfied with the C44-9WL cabs he made 2 years ago. I kept CN2514 DCC+sound but sold CN2518 a year ago. They were very well made and solid resin casting. (a bit of model RR porn here, sorry to pollute your tread Artur ) Stephane No problem, I'm actually building my own C44-9WL cab should have it ready soon i'll post some pics. I'll also have to modify the CW long hood and turn it into a WL.

I love the 4 windshield cab kits! When I was a student conductor on BN, we had CN haulage trains. These later went to WC. On one trip my cousin took a picture of us going through Naperville, IL. Our leader was a 4 Windshield-9. That photo hangs in my living room. Nice job.

I finally found some time to get back to this build. I decided to also build the C44-9WL version with the 4 windshield cab, here is the long hood, there are quite a bit of differences between these and the WC units that CN owns.

Saw these on the Atlas forum. It's absolutely outstanding...much cleaner than my M420s.
