I purchased a K5 horn kit close to 8 years ago now that I wish I remember the name of. You had to assemble the bells onto the manifold yourself, and while it was a bit of a pain for me then (not using the best glue), I wish I could buy more of these now. They were much nicer in detail and clarity than what is currently offered. Does anyone remember this type of kit, and if they still are produced?

Is it a cast kit? If it is it's probably a "Custom Finishes" kit. I see em on evilbay all the time.

HO scale. And Custom Finishes seems to be the closest to anything I can think of, but on their site they dont offer any short style Nathan horns, mostly big Leslies. Any other ideas?

Detail associates had a 5 chime horn you had to build, but you could make any configuration you wanted, I made mine into 3 chimes but they were delrin and yes a bit of a pain.

Cal Scale made horn kits in the past as well. I'm curious why you are looking for the kits anyways. Cal Scale carries a pretty solid line of horns, and they keep adding more on a regular basis.

I liked the kit because it was a lot cleaner and better cast. Those Cal Scales are fine but rather rough when compared to what I had. Details West makes a CSX K5LA that works for my needs but I have yet to get something better than that kit.

Detail Associates has 3 and 5 chime horns that you have to assemble yourself. You can buy an etched brass bracket for the 5 chime from Plano that will make for a more durable assembly.
