My latest completed project for a fellow modeler: an SW1 decorated for PDX Traction. The model comes from Walthers and my customer wanted the proper hood top next to the cab and provided me one made by Custom Finishing. That was an interesting cut and cut and fill project. The bell is from Cal Scale and he also provided a thin wall cab which assembled very nicely and I replaced the door handles provided with a pair from Precision Scale which look much nicer. One of those little touches. The switcher has an interesting horn array on top which I sorta duplicated with an Athearn Blat type horn and a cluster from Utah Pacific. There were other cab top details but my friend did not want to include them. The decals came from Rail Graphics. A set they made for our local Whistle Stop Trains store that I picked up many moons ago. The paint is Scalecoat GN orange and the finish is a 50 / 50 mix of Dullcoat and Glosscoat thinned 50% with lacquer thinner.

Way cool! I love the orange with black tiger stripes. That's a nice and nicely done unit.
