I'm working on a NJT E8 and need to put the grills back on and don't know what adhesive to use to put the grills back on.

I would use 800 grit sandpaper to sand the back of the grills in order to give "tooth". Then I would use Testors Model Master Liquid Cement sparingly to adhere them. I hope this helps!

I've got a friend that swears by Future Acrylic Floor Finish for attaching flat etched parts like grilles, fan grilles, etc.. Sanding the back like Beatmaker suggested would be a good thing as well. You can even use it to topcoat once you're finished, here's a link from MRH discussing it. Check out the link to Swanney Models too on the first page, lots of good info there on where to find it and how to use it. model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/23279

Haven't tried it yet, but other folks have had good luck with Barge cement. You use it like a contact cement, and it apparently has enough flex to keep grills from popping. I will attest, though, that CA doesn't work well and grills will pop.
