So ive got some really old decals for a project and Im a little concerned about using them. These decals are old Walthers product and Im guessing are from the 70s so theyre pushing 40 years old. Theyre a perfect match for my project though and i cany find a current match.
Anyway, how can i treat these decals before using them? Ive heard spraying them with dullcoat first, ive also heard coating them with Microsol Crystal Clear first. Are there other options? Looking for suggestion.

I just brush on a couple coats of Microscale liquid decal film. Use a wide soft brush for a smooth coating. Jim at Highball Graphics uses the same stuff to coat all his decals as well. Friend of mine applies it with one of those foam brushes, which works well too.
