I have a question about applying multiple layers of scale coat on a project. The paint is a very high gloss, so when I go to do a second layer is there a need to "ruff" it up to create greater adhesion for the second layer? Or is it to just apply the next layer on top of the previous gloss? I do not really want to flatten the gloss since I am working N Scale and do not want to harm the details. Thanks in advance for any advice

No need for any prep work prior to applying the second coat / color. Being the same chemical formula, the paint will bond readily to itself.
You might run into trouble if you attempted to say, spray an acrylic paint over the gloss Scalecoat finish. It won't adhere, or should I say, bond, to it very well.
The solvents in the Scalecoat paint will react / soften the first coat of Scalecoat paint sufficiently to bond well to itself.

great! thanks for the response. I take it I can also apply scalecoat II overtop of scale coat I or vice versa since they are both enamel? You were right by the way, the green took nicely on top of the white, so I'm off to a good start.
