Model of one of the WM hi-nose RS-3's, necessitated by the installation of a steam boiler and dynamic brakes. Model started as a Weaver O scale RS3 of an earlier phase. The car body was cut out and replaced with .040 inserts with .010 styrene for the doors. Door hinges were scraped off of the old car body with door handles bent out of .020 brass rod. The high nose raised using a donor RS3 body and the fuel tank cut down to simulate the WM tanks. Detail parts came from various vendors although I kit bashed the number boards using PSC D&RGW number boards glued to a piece of strip styrene sanded down to resemble the angled backs. The stack extension scratched using some Plastruct angle and flat styrene. Painted with Scalecoat Keystone black and lettered with Champ decals.

It looks real nice. Nothing better than early Alcos!
