Noooooo! You must do the right thing. You know you have to!
You haven't weathered them yet...should be no biggie to rebuild the intake baffle correctly on all of the shells.

Here's an update, I finally reassembled a couple of my F40PH's, I had a little trouble with 515 so I have to work on that one a bit, the decoder (MRC) was not behaving. The others two 510 and 513 are working great though here are some shots:
and yes slowfreight, I could not stand the inaccuracy, for now I have placed a really thin sheet of styrene over the top of my A and B unit, I think it looks OK. I may attempt to remove the top and replace it with a proper slab later. Right now I am trying to finish my F59PH's fix 515, and get ready to start a GP40TC and some Hawker Siddeley Coaches... stay tuned

On the subject of Hawker Siddeley coaches, I've been going back and forth with Mike Bartel from Imperial Hobby Productions about the H-S DMU cars. I think he may have enough data that you could talk to him about getting Resin or Shapeways shells for those cars. Some of this Shapeways stuff is much more affordable in N than HO.
Meanwhile, if you know anybody who might have a good roof shot of the DMUs, could you PM me their contact info?

I am having a friend of mine who works in Maya do a CG model and we hope to then print it out, he does this kind of thing professionally though never for N scale trains before, but it seemed like the best way to go about it. I have been gathering images for a while, sometimes the top has a bit of grieblies and sometimes it seems smooth. I have never seen an up close image of what is up there if I find something I'll let you know. Meanwhile I'll see what my friend can do, but I'll probably go smooth for now.

These look great. Who do you get Kaslo parts from? thanks Nick, I got the kaslo F59PH's on auctions, one on eBay and one randomly I found online. The cab of the GP40-2w I bought direct from Kaslo, I just emailed them and they got back to me, I had to wait a bit for it but it came. They make really nice stuff, a little tricky to figure out sometimes, but so many prototypes have small differences your best friend when assembling their kits is good photo reference.

almost done with one of my Kaslo F59PH, I still have to add the front plaque with the GO logo, paint a few grabs, add the glazing, but for the most part this one is almost done. I'm doing a test fit with a KATO F40PH which works pretty nicely with some sanding of the interior shell and clipping a bit on the KATO frame. I tried an Athean F59PHI frame but it's too high to fit right, especially the version with the sound decoder. I might look at it again, but overall I think the KATO fits best, at least in the N scale versionand... I did resort to removing the error on FP7 and B unit, they now have the correct cover. I stripped off the earlier idea where I had it as a screen, and as slow freight pointed out I now have replaced that with the correct flat top cover on both.

Nice!
Where'd you get the decals? I still need to find HO decals for my 800-series power car.

Nice! Where'd you get the decals? I still need to find HO decals for my 800-series power car. The decals were a bit of an issue, the GOT decal is obviously just one of the ones I had custom made for the other stuff I've been building. I ended up using a set of HO scale Tropicana box car decals for the numbers. They were close to the color green I've been painting and the number style was also pretty close. The HO box car numbers worked well for my N scale B-unit

finished B-unit, this was an Intermountain B-unit that I modified though it did not take much. Had to cover some of the side windows leaving one on each side, cut the sacks in-between the fans, added the metal exhaust pipe, added the intake cover, added end grabs to one side. the decals are a custom GOT decal and the numbers are HO scale Tropicana box car numbers that I am using on this N scale B-unit. Next I'll try to finish the two F59's then my shape ways GP40tc came in so it's time to start that...

So I see you did spring for the GP40TC. How does it look on arrival? It looks great. From the way it is built I'll have to make it a specific number like #505 since it is the type of TC that doesn't have any back porch at all. After I hit is with a coat of primer you can see where the printing process left some "lines" that will need sanded and smoothed a bit. The best thing is that it acts as a great prototype for the one I am kit bashing out of different engines. I already solved a couple problems since I now have something to compare what I was doing to. The printed one will be the green and white hockey stick stripe version and the one I kit bash will be the midnight blue CN GO version. Anyway it was very worthwhile to get the shape ways shell, so thanks for the heads up. I'll post pictures as I go.

UPDATE: finally finished my two kaslo F59PH kist. This was my first time working with a resin kit and I was glad I had two so when something didn't go quite so well I was able to improve it the second time around. I think the last details I need to add are an antenna on 533 and they both need a horn but I must order that separately I guess, the kit did not come with one. The details on the kit are really great, the instructions are pretty loose as far as what and how to do things, but to be fair there are so many tweaks and small differences you can do depending on the prototype one set of directions wouldn't really do. I numbered the two engines after the GO units that are leased out to Metrolink here in California, I've seen both engines out here so I thought I'd number them after the RBRX units. here is unit 533 next to 536, which was a homemade kit bash I did before I was able to find a Kaslo kit. The homemade job is an Athearn F59PHI body with an Atlas SD60 3 window cab. Not bad if you can't find a kaslo, but in the end the Kaslo is much more accurate. next up another GP40-2w and the elusive GP40TC both paint schemes incoming
