I wasn't sure if this question belongs here, but, has anyone ever heard of a model maker named Maple Leaf Trains? Their web site is bare bones, no info on the company, and they offer a limited amount of products, mostly bare body shells, that they ask a lot of money for. Any body dealt with them or heard of them ? www.mapleleaftrains.com/Thanks, Mike.

Yes, I've purchased a CN slug from them, and its a very nice model. The step wells are a little wonky due to warpage, but otherwise its worth the money.
There is full photoetch and handrails, so it is complete, less trucks and couplers.
If the F59 is similar quality, it is worth it as well.
The only thing I was miffed about was that the price is in USD, from a company that 'looks' Canadian, even though the model is manufactured in Israel.

Looks like nothing not much is in stock on their website.
How bad are customs charges if they're shipping from Israel?

Thanks Sean, I'm interested in the F59, as if I don't have enough projects going on! Their web site is so plain, with no contact info, names, where they are from, etc, etc. I thought they were Canadian too. When I Googled them, all I got was pages of info about Amtrak's train the Maple Leaf, and other Canadian things.
Mike.

The website could be cumbersome and convoluted? Would that change what they're trying to sell? They are legit, no risk to inadvertently funding ISIS thru paypal. There was no custom charges on my item. Nuthin' wrong with a little 'Canuck web surfin'...speaking of which, here's a gem! www.nfb.ca/film/railrodder/

It sort of makes me wonder if they have anything to do with Canadian Model Locomotive Works, which only managed to come out with the joint Kaslo/CMLW CN GP9RM kit. The owner there was overseas in the military too.

That was Derrick. Merchant Seaman. He was just upfront funding some Kaslo projects.
