Hi Gang, I've pulled this project out of moth balls and getting started. Nothing is set in stone (Or styrene as the case may be) but I'm working on the loco I talked about in the A Naked Cab Unit thread. Need to do a lot of sanding and filing to get down to a blank sleight and then build it back up from there. I've go two and I haven't decided to make them the same or not. So far, they are a pair of Bachmann/Life-Like F7 shells with GP porches glued onto the front at the level of the anti-climber. I know that I need to plate over the stairwells and make them look more like BL2 porches.

Your F -UNIT project here reminds me of a precept which I did for my brothers and my D.T. & S. RR S-SCALE and O-SCALE layout. which went full HO-SCALE ..

Hi Tom,
Thanks
Did your precept ever come to fruition?
This project started over a decade ago. I got caught up in the On30 craze for a while and then dropped out of model railroading for a couple of years. So now I'm picking up where I left off. (Sort of)
Anyway, progress will be slow as I do this at work on my lunch break and some afternoon down time.
Did some filing/sanding to clean these up a bit.
Hopefully have something more to show next week.

Yes , it did, the procept -should be project - came to fruition, I started with a AHM FM-CLINER for the shell and a EMD F7-A chassis. the other one was a six axle loco starting point there was a ATHEARN FM shell with pieces of a EMD GP35 and another F7-A rear sections only and a ATHEARN GE U30C chassis . both were painted in a WP inspired scheme ,WESTERN PACIFIC's GREEN and ORANGE with the name THL -THOMAS LOCOMOTIVE. As of today both Projects now resides on a friends dual gauge, -3 gauges model railroad back in the BUFFALO, NY AREA. I don't know if pictures are available.

Hi Tom,
My reflex response is to ask for pictures but I can imagine a C- liner

A C-Liner on Blomberg trucks.
The other sounds like a cowl unit with a spartan cab. That would be a beast.

I talked to my friend, he called me out of the blue... and he told me what happened, his kids and the rest of his family sort of destroyed his layout along with some of the equipment.. sadly the two loco's I built were part of what was destroyed so no pictures are coming unless I do them in N-SCALE.

Now that's a clear justification for not breeding.
