I received the Maple leaf trains GP9 slug today and I was trying to fit some Athearn trucks to it but there is no room for them to turn, I tried Atlas and its the same thing. What truck should be used on this thing?

I have one as well but haven't started it, Instructions say Atlas or NWSL Stanton powered trucks, just did a quick look, and I think the NWSL ones may be the best bet. Possibly the Atlas ones need to be be modified, I'm not sure if this unit was meant to be powered or wether you have to modify the trucks to fit.

Hmmm - I have a couple of those here to build as well. Haven't investigated the situation yet though ....
Mark.

I did not know about this until I read this post. That is a pretty damn nice looking slug. The casting looks very well done with very sharp detail. I wish I had an application for it. I would get one or two.

Yes its very nicely done except the one I received has badly warped front pilots and deck, so much so that i decided to cut it off and replace it with P2K pilots from a donor GP9. I'll post some pictures later.

The Atlas trucks work great but I had to grind away the extra resin see the picture.
