Here is the guide for the GE U30B. Built Dates: May,1966 to March, 1975 Total units built: 295
They were built with 3 different radiator configurations.
phase Ia: had the same car-body as the phase II U28B. Built dates: May,1966 to Feb.,1967
phase Ib: smaller radiator with 2 smaller grilles forward of rad. Built dates: Jan.,1967 to Dec.,1697
phase II: Body below radiator is same width as the radiator itself. built dates: Jan.,1968 to March,1675

Models Available: phase Ia: N: - None HO: Athearn (U28B) Walthers / Proto 2000
phase Ib: N: none* HO: Walthers / P2000 * can be kitbashed with a Minitrix U28C body on the Atlas U23B chassis.
phase II: N: none* HO: Athearn Atlas * can be kitbashed with a Kato U30C body on the Atlas U23B chassis.

One minor difference between the phase II U28B and the phase Ia U30B: the fixed cab windows on the U30B have a broader corner radius than on the U28B, amazingly L-L noted that too and tooled up a new cab for their phase Ia U30B. It's one of those little things that once you see it you can't unsee it .
