Hi, I was told this Atlas Gold series GE Dash 8-40BW that I purchased recently, with QSI Quantum Sound, indicates that it is version 8 when read. That would indicate that the decoder is a Titan "SD" board which is what the Atlas Factory installed Titan's are called. They only have 5 light function outputs and only mono sound, but apparently have all the other features and adjustability as the Titan A/U's as well as being able to be upgraded to the v9 Emulator Technology "ET" files with the Quantum Programmer. When I did a Google search for the Titan "SD" board I come up with a board that has the chip socket. The board in this loco doesn't have the chip socket, the chip is soldered directly to the board. It says Quantum FX on one side. I haven't been able to find any images of this particular board to compare with another Atlas that has a Titan "SD" board installed.I also can't find any documentation that indicated that these Dash 8-40BW Atlas loco's ever had Titan boards installed.Only the recent versions of other loco's from Atlas mention the Titan decoder being onboard. At this point I'm not sure if this is actually a Factory installed Titan or possibly a Revolution v7 instead.Which would be disappointing. Can anyone help identify this board as an actual Titan "SD" from the 3 pics I took below?
