I was originally looking at a Shapeways cab, but after considering the expense and questionable longevity of it, I decided to try and build one myself the old fashion way. My progress so far.... Brad

After some constructive feedback on this forum, I did some more work to this project today. I raise the height of the cab'a nose a few scale inches by adding a styrene layer. I also put in new anti climbers front and rear with the support triangles. I also gapped a few more spots with putty. More putty and sanding to go before priming.

I am not crazy about the Admiral Cabs but that certainly does not take away from the really nice job you did here of representing it on your build. You did a fine job on this.

Hey Brad, Is it safe to assume that is a paper towel core taped to the inside of the shell for painting? Because if it is that is a great idea.

Paulie,
That's actually a TP holder...We run through that faster than paper towels! There is always a fresh supply around. (: I find it's a perfect handhold for painting HO shells. No tape necessary...just make sure you shell doesn't work it's way off slowly.

I will have to save a few of those special hand holds and see how they work out.
Keep up the good work.
