Hi,
I`ve never dealt with Highball before.......does he have a 250 sheet minimum like Microscale does?
And as far as artwork.........I do not have any program on my comp. to do any.........but I do have pics of a few finished models.
How is the person to deal with?

Jim is great, very accomodating. I'll second that! He was also kind/thorough enough to make some color recommendations to me that I hadn't considered. His prices are more than fair, especially considering the custom nature of things. The more you do in preparing artwork (and thus, the less he has to do) the less your final cost will be. As far as software, I would highly encourage you to obtain a copy and learn. Inkscape is free, CorelDraw can be had for (relatively) not a lot of money, Illustrator is great (but probably overkill for the casual user). A friend of mine speaks highly of iDraw on the Mac. (There may be many more, these are the ones I know the best.) Look for 1) software capable of making/editing VECTOR FORMAT images, and 2) the ability to convert text to paths (turns any fonts into outlines, that way nothing changes when the files are printed). Once you lean how to use whichever program, it's amazing how many possibilities will present themselves. Billboards, business signs, road signs, etc. But I digress. Back to original question: An enthusiastic YES to Highball!

I will also vouch for Jim at highball. Since I live fairly close to him (approx 45 minutes) he has always been very accommodating for me to stop by and pick up the items I need rather than wait for them to be shipped. He basically is my LHS! I haven't gotten any custom decals from him thus far, but once I get the artwork together I definitely will be getting them made by highball.

I will also recommand Highball. Jim has done all my Kansas Pacific decals and they are really good for the price you pay for them thats for sure. All of the other stuff he offers is pretty good with price and he is fast on shipping.

i've ordered from him in the past and received things very quick, even had a decal set replaced when it wouldn't slide off the sheet and got bunched up. This weekend I placed an order for custom decals. Emailed friday, went back and forth a few times with ideas, sent him a pdf i had and Friday he send's me artwork of what i want, order placed sunday, decals were already printed and shipped today. Now thats service!!!
