You would think that with all the models of this loco that have been built by modelers that some manufacturer would get the hint and produce the damn thing.

No you can use the SD40 or 45 trucks from the Athearn RTR line, if I remember right I drilled a hole in the center of the bolster where the HTC truck rides for the pin of the Flexicoil. This is the same thing I did on undecorated Athearn SD50's to put Flexicoil trucks under them. I will look at mine and take a couple pics for you guys when I get off work.

The newet Athearn RTR SD45 geartowers are completely different from the old BB SD45 trucks...I think that's where the confusion is...

Here are some pics of the rough machined Athearn RTR SD40T-2 frame. Now to use the Athearn RTR Flexicoil SD40/45 trucks you take the center of the bolster and drill it to match the pin on the Felxicoil trucks. The other modifications to the frame include milling under the battery boxes, making the rear of the frame like the front in order to fit between the steps, and last I had to mill a small amount of frame in order for the shell to sit down the whole way right at the rear weight. Well I can't seem to figure out how to load pics with this new iPhone,my old android was easy.
