Through my experience, when most of the locomotive is black...ie (NW, SR, NS) most of the little details are hidden by the color. I guess thats why i love weathering, its my expertise in this hobby. With NW black locos, the right weathering makes them look right but they're not so black anymore. The weathering helps enhance what you can't see on a pristine locomotive. Great looking SD there btw

I installed my high hood. I left it on the bench last night to let the glue dry. Alas one of our cats knocked it in the floor and our dog chewed on the body. So now I've got to hunt down a body with the square mounting tabs.

William there is a guy in ebay called soomuchstuff but sometimes he is a bit slow to ship He screwed me out of 25 dollars worth of merchandise, and when I reported him to Ebay he blocked me. I never got what I paid for, and Ebay let him get away with it.

I ordered from Germany some Atlas GP40-2 parts, took the standard 3 weeks to one month to get to germany. So no problem at all with him.

I have never had any problems with Soooo Much Stuff.Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe there is more than one person doing the shipping and one of them just doesn't care.

I've never had problems with soomuchstuff but another member of this board screwed me out of $400 for a loco that was broken and a non-runner and eBay also let him get away with it.
Anyway, back to the point of the thread, following this one closely...

My experience with soomuchstuff has been fantastic. I usually get my purchases from him within 3 days.

I had the day off for a doctors appointment. So when I got home I dug out my Cannon and Co High Hood kit. I got it together for the most part. I drilled #79 holes for the grab irons before I started assembly. Right now the glue is drying for the night.

Thanks Jerry. I've admired Mr.Harpe's work for a while. I've used that clinic to help my GP38 build along.

I've gotten back to this project. I've built the cab and battery boxes. I'm waiting on two drill bits for the classification and headlights, before I install the long hood end and the high hood.

I had the day off so, I got some work done on my GP38. I got my lift rings, antenna, long hood end and grab irons. I'm waiting for my high hood kit and I'm looking for an oil bath filter dynamic brake blister.

I got some work done on the dynamic brake parts. I'm modifying the air filter per the prototype. I cut off the Atlas air filter and used a .030 piece of styrene and shaped it. Then added a "locator" tab also .030 styrene.
