:DHere are the Ohio Valley paint schemes for road switchers from 1940 through the Chessie System. The first one is based upon the ones used by the D&RGW, B&M, MEC, LV. I just changed the colors. Story wise is that the OV CEOs saw a locomotive painted in one of the above schemes and liked it and used a variation on the DL109s delivered in Dec. 1940. The rest are variations of the schemes used by the C&O. Let me know what you guys think.

:)The first scheme is based upon the D&RGW/B&M/MEC/LV schemes, just the colors changed. The others except the last are based on the C&O with just the name changed and the hearlds. The large OV scheme was inspired back in 1979 by the V&O/AM/VM railroads. When I was modeling the OV as an independent railroad set in the 1980s I had them make one change to the scheme, I added a white roof to the cab around 1984. I posted a picture of it in one of my earlier posts on a C39-8. I just recently change to modeling the OV again as part of the Chessie System and decided to have a moden independent scheme just before the CS formed ala the WM and its circus scheme.

Cool. I had once came up with the idea of fictional 4th Chessie road a few years back. I had even came up with an engine roster that fit into the Chessie System's numbering scheme. It was a regional road that was slightly bigger than the Western Maryland so the engine roster was fairly small.

:)Well, here are the OV cab unit paint schemes. Let me know what you think. Also I will hopefully be posting some pics of the locomotive I'm working on. It's an Athearn BB SW1500 that I'm detailing and will be painting in the Chessie scheme with OV sublettering. I just need time to work on it. right now I've just stripped it and started with the details. As soon as I get the details on I'll post a pic.
