Yeah, but its not the bachmann of even 10 years ago. They are a bit more serious with their latest offerings. This one runs like a swiss watch, with golden white LEDs, and DCC ready.
They made one mistake that makes this model an excellent candidate for an all-welded CN MS10, they forgot to mould on the cab rivets, which saves you the step of removing them, and while it doesn't have the proper gasketted windows, it also doesn't have the old Alco style window sashes either...win!
Where it is better than Atlas, is where the pilot ends are devoid of cast on details.

I've got two of the Atlas Kato's to do a similar build on. This'll serve as a good starting point. This is my favorite of the three by the way.

A little nostalgia for the old folks...
8224 was one of a string of MS-10s that sat behind the London RH in the early 80's, waiting for their trip to the torch. Dad used to work the Afternoon shift at the RH and mom used to go shopping on payday (Thursdays I think) and mom used to drop me and my brother off at the RH for an hour while she went shopping (cuz we all know why 2 boys under 10 shouldn't go into a grocery store) We used to pass the time by climbing all over the switchers waiting for mom to return. Dad would go about his work in the shop, and on one occasion the CN police showed up cuz it was reported a "couple kids were crawling on the equipment", but they didn't care when they found out who we were. (Dad won a safety award by catching some trespassers smashing windows a couple years earlier so the cops gave him extra graces)
Those were the days...
